October 8th, 10th and 11th
Senator Dinniman Urges Volunteers to Pitch In to Clean Up Veterans Memorial Site
WEST CHESTER (August 19) - State Senator Andy Dinniman encouraged volunteer organizations and individuals to participate in a large-scale cleanup of the Freedoms Foundation’s Medal of Honor Grove scheduled for Friday, Oct. 8, Sunday, Oct. 10 and Monday, Oct. 11.
“I encourage service organizations, youth groups, veterans associations and individual volunteers to step forward and get involved in the cleanup effort,” Dinniman said. “We’ve already received an outpouring of support from residents who are eager to restore this hallowed ground to its proper condition.”

Dinniman Announces $554,500 Energy Conservation Grant for Phoenixville Area School District
PHOENIXVILLE (September 1) – State Senator Andy Dinniman on Wednesday announced that the Phoenixville Area School District will receive a $554,500 grant from the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority that will be used for conserving energy in three schools, directly saving taxpayer money.
Dinniman said the $554,500 grant will pay for solar panels, more efficient HVAC and lighting systems and energy awareness programs, and that it represents a Commonwealth investment with both environmental and fiscal benefits. » Read More

Remains of Chester County Soldier Identified After 60 Years
Master Sgt. John Linkowski To Be Buried in Arlington National Cemetery on October 14
WEST CHESTER (August 27)
State Senator Andy Dinniman said that the federal government has identified the remains of a U.S. soldier from Chester County who went missing in action during the Korean War.
Dinniman said the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command Central Identification Laboratory has identified the remains of Master Sgt. John Gerhard Linkowski, who served in both World War II and the Korean War and went Missing in Action (MIA) near Unsan, North Korea, on Nov. 2, 1950. He was officially presumed dead on December, 31, 1953.

Dinniman: Home Heating Equipment Rebates Increased
Rebates of Up to $1,000 Available for Energy Efficient Upgrades
WEST CHESTER (August 12) - State Senator Andy Dinniman announced that Pennsylvania residents are now eligible for increased incentives to upgrade their heating systems in order to conserve energy and save money.
The Pennsylvania Home Heating Equipment Rebate Program will now offer rebates from $250 to $1,000 to replace eligible non-electric residential furnaces, hot water heaters and boilers with more efficient Energy Star-rated units. » Read More |

PA Turnpike Commission Announces Resumption of Route 29 Slip Ramp Project
Slip Ramp Part of $523 million in Local Highway Transportation Work
EAST WHITELAND (Aug. 4) - State Senator Andy Dinniman announced on Wednesday that the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has lifted its suspension of the Route 29 slip ramp plan and that ground should be broken on the economy-building project early next year.
Dinniman said Turnpike officials notified him of its decision on Monday, just days after a July 28 Senate hearing where he and local business officials testified as to just how critically important the slip ramp is to the local economy and to retaining and bringing highly skilled, highly paid jobs to the area.

Dinniman Announces PA Fair Care
New Health Plan for Adults with Preexisting Conditions Opens August 4th
WEST CHESTER (August 3) - State Senator Dinniman announced that the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance will launch PA Fair Care, Pennsylvania’s health plan for uninsured adults with pre-existing conditions, on Wednesday, August 4.
“When full federal health reform takes effect in 2014, insurance companies will no longer be able to deny residents coverage or charge them more if they are sick,” Dinniman said. “In the interim, PA Fair Care will provide options for uninsured residents with preexisting conditions.”

Dinniman Leads Charge to Clean Up Veterans Memorial Site
State Senator: “52-Acre Medal of Honor Grove Must Be Maintained for Perpetuity”
SCHUYLKILL (July 30) - State Senator Andy Dinniman recently visited the Freedoms Foundation’s Medal of Honor Grove to bring attention to the poor condition of the site, raise concerns about its future and call on volunteers to help clean it up.
The 52- acre grove, located at the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, is divided into one-acre plots for each state, as well as Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. Each plot features an obelisk and metal plaques set in the ground, honoring every Medal of Honor recipient since the Civil War.
