Dinniman Visits Great Valley High School Food Project

During a recent visit to Great Valley High School, State Senator Andy Dinniman participated in the Cooking for Friends program, which involves students preparing food for the hungry and those in need.

“I was really impressed, not only by how well the students knew their way around the kitchen, but also by how willing they were to volunteer their time and energy to help those in need,” Dinniman said.

Dinniman visited Food and Consumer Sciences teacher Maryalis Bakken’s program on Jan. 10. He was joined by Great Valley School District Superintendent Dr. Rita Jones.

Dinniman helped students prepare a special applesauce dessert for the Cooking for Friends Project. That afternoon students prepared 30 dinners to be distributed through a local social services agency.
