WEST CHESTER, OCT. 2, 2007 - State Sen. Andy Dinniman announced that beginning today the Senate of Pennsylvania is broadcasting all session floor activity live on the Internet.

To access the broadcast, viewers can go to the bipartisan Pennsylvania Senate Web site www.pasen.gov and click on “Senate Session Live” link in the left-hand column under the “Senate Information” heading. For a schedule of when Senate is in session, simply click on “Session Days” link. A link can also be accessed via Senator Dinniman’s Web site, www.senatordinniman.com.

“Thanks to this Webcast, many Chester and Montgomery County residents will have the opportunity to watch their state government in action for the first time,” Dinniman said. “This is another step to ensuring open, accessible and accountable state government.”

Depending on service and location, residents can already watch state Senate and House proceedings on the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN). However, portions of the 19th Senatorial District do not have access to PCN.

“For many of my constituents, this live video feed is their first chance to see what goes on inside the Senate chamber, as it happens. I’m especially glad that we’ve offered residents the latest way to access the legislature in time for the all-important special session on energy independence,” Dinniman said.
