WEST CHESTER (September 30) – State Senators Andy Dinniman and John Rafferty recently recognized the Green Valleys Association on 45 years of protecting and preserving Chester County’s natural resources.
Dinniman and Rafferty presented John Hoekstra, the Green Valleys Association’s Director of Watershed Advocacy, with a special Senate citation in honor of the association’s 45th anniversary.
“I want to thank the Green Valleys Association and its many hardworking members, past and present, on this important milestone,” Dinniman said. “Our open spaces, pristine waterways and natural treasures are what truly make Chester County home. The commitment to preserving them is one that we all share and have a stake in.”
“The Green Valley’s Association is deserving of this recognition, continuously reminding us of the importance of sustainability in protecting a most cherished natural resource – water. We are all responsible for replenishing and maintaining our waterways in the Commonwealth,” Rafferty said
The Green Valleys Association’s Annual Fall Celebration is set for Wednesday, October 7, from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Welkinweir, a 197-acre nature preserve, arboretum and historic Estate House that serves as the organization’s home.
This year’s event will feature Pennsylvania’s Staff Attorney for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Matt Royer, as keynote speaker. Royer will talk about protecting our water in a time of challenges and creative solutions.
