Dinniman Announces Committee Assignments
WEST CHESTER (March 2) – State Senator Andy Dinniman announced today that he was reappointed to his leadership role as Minority Chair of the Senate Education Committee for the 2015-16 legislative session.
“This is a watershed moment for all levels of public education in Pennsylvania,” Dinniman said. “The current legislative session will be crucial in addressing important challenges and questions regarding the role of standardized testing, graduate requirements and equitable funding in our schools.”
“I look forward to working with the new administration, as well as state Senator Lloyd Smucker, the new majority chair of the Senate Education Committee, to find solutions that will benefit students, schools and taxpayers throughout Pennsylvania,” he added.
This marks the fourth consecutive session that Dinniman, who holds a doctorate in education, has been appointed to the post. He will also continue to serve as a member of the state Board of Education, the Pennsylvania State Public School Building Authority, the Pennsylvania Higher Education Facilities Authority and the Education Commission of the States.
In addition to education, Dinniman was assigned to the following committees:
- Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
- Environmental Resources and Energy.
- Public Health and Welfare.
- State Government.
He will also continue to serve on the Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority – and was recently elected as the authority’s secretary – and the Joint Legislative Conservation Committee.
In addition, for the first time, Dinniman was appointed to serve as a member of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
“I look forward to serving on all these boards and committees and my work representing the citizens of Chester County’s 19th Senatorial District,” Dinniman said.
