HARRISBURG (March 16, 2018) – State Senator Andy Dinniman announced that four solar energy projects in Chester County will receive more than $1 million in total state funding.

“These investments can go a long way in encouraging businesses to transition to solar energy,” Dinniman, who serves on the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, said. “They not only cut pollutants and energy costs; they support a competitive business environment, attract entrepreneurs and jobs, and help ensure that Pennsylvania will be a leader in the clean energy marketplace.”

The funds, which come through the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Solar Energy Grant Funding Program, were approved today by the Commonwealth Finance Authority. They are as follows:

  • $643,415 for Safari Viper LLC for the purchase and installation of a 1.252.6 kW roof-mounted solar array at the Exton Square Mall, owned by the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust, in West Whiteland Township. The total project cost is $190,000.

  • $71,190 for Zimmerman and Summers DBA L&L Leasing for the purchase and installation of a roof-mounted 77.72 kW solar photovoltaic system at its facility in Atglen Borough.
