Dinniman Commemorates the Late Mike Predmore of West Grove Fire Company
WEST GROVE (May 21) – State Senator Andy Dinniman recently visited West Grove Fire Company to honor the life and legacy of William “Mike” Predmore, a volunteer firefighter and community leader who passed away on March 6.
“Mike gave so much back to the community and touched so many lives – not only through his dedication to West Grove Fire Company, but also through his work with the Boy Scouts and in developing a fire prevention and education program in local schools,” Dinniman said. “He embodied the spirit of community, of volunteerism and of public service. I want to thank the Predmore family for sharing Mike with all of us. His contributions were lasting and his presence is deeply missed.”
In recognizing Predmore’s significant contributions and lasting impact on the community, Dinniman presented the Predmore family with a special memorial citation from the Senate of Pennsylvania.
West Grove Fire Chief Eric Felker and John Chambers, President of West Grove Fire Company, thanked Dinniman for honoring Predmore and paying tribute to all the region’s volunteer firefighters and emergency fire responders who keep local families and communities safe.
“We are grateful for this formal and distinguished recognition of our fallen officer and volunteer who committed so much of his life in service to his community,” said Felker.
“Senator Dinniman has always been supportive of the fire service throughout his career, and we are grateful that he has taken the leadership to honor Mike Predmore and share this honor with the Predmore family,” said Chambers.
Predmore, who joined West Grove Fire Company in 1990, served in a variety of leadership positions at the fire house, but was best known for his role as an engineer. His dedication was crucial in acquiring and maintaining equipment and vehicles that continue to ensure a quick and reliable emergency response throughout the community. In addition, Predmore was the driving force behind the acquisition and restoration of West Grove Fire Company’s original 1927 Hale pumper, “Elsie.”
Predmore also served as emergency director for New London Township and volunteered as a Boy Scout pack leader. At West Grove Fire Company, he helped establish a second station in New London and was known for mentoring young truck operators as well as playing Santa Claus during the company’s Christmas-time visits to local neighborhoods.
