Dinniman Honored by Pennsylvania Architects
WEST CHESTER (December 20, 2018) – Senator Andy Dinniman was recently honored with the 2018 Government Award from the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
“I’m honored to receive this award and will continue to strive to support Pennsylvania architects in maintaining the highest standards for building safety, functionality, sustainability, and preservation,” Dinniman said.
The awarded was presented to Dinniman “in recognition of his significant contributions to or particular support of the profession and business of architecture and the built environment.”
Dinniman was recognized for his work as a member of the Pennsylvania Public School Building Construction and Reconstruction (PlanCon) Advisory Committee. He also serves as Vice President of the Pennsylvania State Public School Building Authority and the Pennsylvania Higher Educational Facilities Authority.
Earlier this year, as minority chair of the Senate Education Committee, Dinniman was a strong supporter of Act 44 of 2018, comprehensive and wide-reaching legislation to improve school security and safety by physically shoring up school buildings, among other new programs, innovative approaches, and additional resources.
AIA Pennsylvania represents nearly 3,000 members through eight regional chapters. In representing, serving, and communicating the interests of its local chapters and individual members, AIA Pennsylvania promotes the profession of architecture throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania while striving for the highest quality in the built environment.
