Dinniman: Joint Senate Committee Meeting on Pipeline Safety Tuesday
HARRISBURG (March 19, 2018) – The Pennsylvania Senate Environmental Resources and Energy and Consumer Protection and Licensure Committees will hold a joint public hearing on pipeline safety tomorrow, Tuesday, March 20 at 11 a.m.
The hearing will take place in Hearing Room #1 of the North Office Building in Harrisburg.
It will also be available online via a live stream at http://www.senatordinniman.com/live.
State Senator Andy Dinniman, who serves on the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, thanked the committee’s chair, state Senator Gene Yaw, for calling the hearing largely in response to growing concerns regarding the safety of Sunoco’s Mariner East pipeline project in Chester County and throughout the Commonwealth.
“My constituents in Chester County and residents throughout Pennsylvania have very serious and very real public safety concerns regarding potential threats from Sunoco’s Mariner East and other current and proposed pipeline projects,” Dinniman said. “I welcome this hearing and a productive discussion on what steps we can take to better protect our residents, their homes and their families from potential threats to their health, safety, and well-being. After all, that is the primary duty of government.”
