Dinniman Recognizes Bishop Shanahan Track Team on State Championship
HARRISBURG (June 20, 2018) – State Senator Andy Dinniman recently recognized the Bishop Shanahan Boys Track Team on capturing first place in the Class AAA, 2018 PIAA State Track and Field Championships.
Several team members recently visited Senator Dinniman at the state Capitol in Harrisburg where he commended them on the milestone achievement, presented them with a special Senate Citation in honor of the championship, and introduced them on the Senate floor during legislative session.
“I wanted to personally recognize you on this tremendous accomplishment, as I know some of you are going on to college and continuing your competitive running careers at the NCAA level,” Dinniman told the group. “However, I have no doubt that you’ll always look back fondly on what you achieved as part of this team. And never forget that the values of teamwork, discipline, dedication, and commitment you developed on the way to this championship will serve you well for years to come.”
The team clinched the victory in dramatic fashion by winning the 4X400 relay, the final event of the day in state championships at Seth Grove Stadium on the campus of Shippensburg University earlier this spring. As a result, they tied and became co-champions with North Allegheny for the title.
