Dinniman Recognizes Coatesville Seniors
WEST CHESTER (March 3) – Senator Andy Dinniman recently visited the Coatesville Area Senior Center to recognize residents who have reached 90 years or older with special Senate Certificates of Recognition.
“It is always a pleasure to meet, chat with and honor our senior citizens,” Dinniman said. “They are the people who literally fought for the freedoms we enjoy and built the towns where we live today.”
Since taking office, Dinniman has visited senior centers and senior living facilities throughout the region to offer birthday wishes to almost 1,000 seniors each year who are part of his 90+ Birthday Program. Under the program, area seniors 90 years and older receive honorary certificates on their birthdays.
Dinniman said the 90+ Birthday Program is part of hiseffort to not only recognize the vast contributions of the senior community, but also to ensure that local seniors are receiving all the support and services Pennsylvania has to offer, from tax rebates to medical assistance.
In addition, Dinniman was joined by Chester County Sheriff Carolyn “Bunny” Welsh and her staff to assist seniors in enrolling in Pennsylvania’s Yellow Dot Program. The program was created to assist citizens in the “golden hour” of emergency care following a traffic accident when they may not be able to communicate their needs themselves. Placing a yellow dot in your vehicle’s rear window alerts first responders to check your glove compartment for vital information to ensure you receive the medical attention you need.
