Dinniman Recognizes George Fasic, Chester County 2020
WEST CHESTER (June 25) – State Senator Andy Dinniman recently recognized George Fasic on being honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from Chester County 2020.
“It is my honor to recognize George Fasic for his service to Chester County and our region and his invaluable contributions to wise land use and planning here,” Dinniman said. “In supporting smart planning, we can maintain our town centers, while preserving the historic places and open spaces that make Chester County such a great place to call home. So much of this has been made possible by the dedication and hard work of individuals like Mr. Fasic and groups like Chester County 2020.”
Fasic, the former Director of the Chester County Planning Commission, has more than thirty years of experience in the field of planning. He is currently a professor at West Chester University, where he teaches introductory planning, planning design, planning law and land development control.Fasic was honored by Chester County 2020 at its annual Citizen Planner Party in April. Each year Chester County 2020’s Citizen Planners Program highlights the value of accredited land use training through its Master Planner Program and honors the municipal volunteer officials who demonstrate wise land use in our region
The Master Planner Program is sponsored by the Chester County Association of Township Officials (CCATO,) the Chester County Planning Commission, the the West Chester University of Pennsylvania College of Business & Public Affairs’ School of Geography & Planning. The next Citizen Planner event will be April 30, 2015 at the Chester Valley Golf Club in Malvern.
Chester County 2020 is a non-profit organization that works to promote responsible land use decisions and planning, as well as educate community members in protecting natural resources and encouraging agricultural preservation.
