Dinniman Recognizes KAU Junior League National Champions
On October 16, 2017
Dinniman invited the team to the state Capitol in Harrisburg and presented each of the players and coaches with a special Senate citation in honor of the milestone achievement.
“This was certainly a memorable team and will surely be a memorable season for the players, coaches, and parents,” Dinniman said. “And I have no doubt that just like the memories of this championship season, the values instilled in the players – hard work, dedication, teamwork, sportsmanship, commitment, and sacrifice – will last their whole lives.
“These young men not only played exceptionally well, they represented our region impeccably on the national and international stage, and that is a testament to their parents, coaches, teacher, and all who guided them along the way,” he added.
The team, made up of athletes from both the Kennett Consolidated and Unionville Chadds-Ford School Districts, won the national title after an incredible run that fell just short of the world championship title.
Under Coaches Matt Patterson, Brian Regenye and Sean Burns, the team was comprised of Cory Burns, Andrew Tucker, Dan Kane, Nick Patterson, Louis Sharp, Joey Wolf, Jack Regenye, Levi Jones, Thomas Edmonds, Matt Haggerty, Scott Hansen, and Patrick Methlie.
