Dinniman Visits Alex’s Lemonade Stand in West Chester
WEST CHESTER (June 12) – State Senator Andy Dinniman today visited the Alex’s Lemonade Stand operated by Althea Hutchinson and Christopher Muth on the corner of Church and Gay Streets in West Chester.
Hutchinson and Muth, both survivors of childhood cancer, have operated the annual stand for more than a decade to raise funds for the national nonprofit organization that supports pediatric cancer research and provides resources for patients and their families.

Hutchinson and Muth’s stand regularly ranks among the top fundraisers in the country. Over the past decade, their stand, along with additional initiatives, has raised more than $45,000 in total for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
“This year Althea and Chris are shooting to break the $50,000 mark,” Dinniman said. “I encourage you to come out, have a glass of cold lemonade and do your part in the fight against childhood cancer.”
Dinniman also recognized both Hutchison and Muth for their efforts to raise funds for cancer research.
“These two young people truly embody the spirit of community and volunteerism,” he said. “Knowing what they and their families have endured, both Althea and Christopher stepped forward to help others affected by this terrible disease.”
