Dear Friend –

Senator Andy DinnimanToday modern slavery, called “human trafficking,” continues to exist in our community, and the Philadelphia area is one of the major hubs of human trafficking in America. It is time for people of faith to affirm hope and freedom and to put an end to this form of slavery.

You may know that Senate Bill 75, which would help end human trafficking here in Pennsylvania and of which I am the prime co-sponsor, passed the Senate on December 10. The bill now goes to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for consideration. We are now one-third of the way to making Senate Bill 75 law.

On Thursday, January 16 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of West Chester, I will be hosting an event to discuss the final push in getting this legislation passed in the House and signed by the governor. That evening, we will also discuss the specifics of the legislation itself and what it will mean for law enforcement, victim services, private citizens and the faith community.

Please join me on the evening of Thursday, January 16 to discuss how you can help Senate Bill 75 clear the final hurdles and hear what is next in the battle against this modern-day slavery.

Thank you for your interest in ending human trafficking in Pennsylvania. Your involvement is vital to this effort. Please feel free to share this information in any way you feel is appropriate and help spread the word about this important event.

I hope to see you on January 16!
